Saint Rita of Cascia

St. Rita was born in Cascia, Italy. From an early age, she knew that she wanted to dedicate her life to God as a nun. But her parents wanted her to marry. St. Rita obeyed them and had two sons. Later in her life, she was able to enter the monastery and became a nun. St. Rita loved the crucifix very much. One day, she knelt down and asked for share in the sufferings of Jesus. A thorn from Jesus’ crown of thorns shot into St. Rita’s forehead, leaving a wound for the rest of her life. Her faith and trust in God were so strong that things that seemed impossible were made possible! How can we have faith like St. Rita?
