St. Martin de Porres

St. Martin de Porres was a man who lived in Lima, Peru. His father was a Spanish knight and his mother was a freed slave. When he was young, his father left him and his mother because of their dark coloured skin. St. Martin turned towards God to comfort him. St. Martin was known to do many miracles throughout his life. He was able to heal people who were sick. He loved helping the sick, and he loved taking care of animals. St. Martin de Porres’ feast day is on November 3rd.
