St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows
Francis Possenti was born in 1838, in Italy. His family was devoted to Our Lady of Sorrows. From an early age he had a great desire to consecrate himself to Christ but the seductions of the world prevented him from fulfilling his will. One day, in August 1856, during a procession, he heard Our Lady's call to become a passionist. He did not hesitate. He went from a life of excess to a life dedicated to Christ.
In 1920 he was canonized by Pope Benedict XV as St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows.
His feast day is February 27th.
How can we dedicate more our lives to Christ?
