Saint Faustina statue
Saint Faustina Kowalska
St. Faustina Kowalska was born in Poland in 1905. From a young age, she felt that God was calling her to be a nun. When she was twenty, St. Faustina entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Warsaw. Throughout her life, she experienced many visions, mainly of Jesus. In one of the visions, St. Faustina saw an image of Jesus. He asked her to have an image painted after what she saw. Jesus told her that He wanted the image to be venerated in her convent first, then throughout the world. St. Faustina did have the image created, and it has become known as the image of Divine Mercy. St. Faustina wrote down her experiences and it was eventually published as the Diary of St. Faustina. Many people around the world have found great comfort and help when reading it. Jesus entrusted St. Faustina with many missions throughout her life. What mission would you like Jesus to entrust to you?
